Newark Liberty International Airport Redevelopment

PACOTECH™ was a subconsultant to the Schal-Berger Joint Venture. PACO provided Program Management Services for the development of the AirTrain Newark Automated People Mover System as part of the Newark International Airport Redevelopment Plan. These services included Project Controls, Cost Estimating, CPM Scheduling, Document Controls, and Construction Inspection.

The Automated People Mover System (Monorail) for EWR was a $378 million project for an on-airport people mover system connecting all three terminal buildings, parking lots and rental car facilities. It was completed and went into operation in 1996. The connection of AirTrain Newark to the Northeast Corridor New Jersey Transit and Amtrak train systems was begun in 1998.

The International Facility in Terminal B is a $110 million international passenger facility that was completed and opened to passengers in 1996. The Newark International Airport Landside Access Program was the phased redevelopment of the roadway system that provided car and bus access to the airport. It involved over $800 million in five phases of construction. The program also included tenant airlines financed construction and additional future Port Authority projects such as parking structures.
